Not Everything You Are Losing Is a Loss | Learning to Let Go with Love

Dear Sweet Friends 🙏✨🪽❤️

There are moments in life when we find ourselves holding on to something, not necessarily because it continues to bring us happiness, but because we cannot imagine who we might become without it.

A relationship. A friendship. A familiar environment. A way of living. Even a version of ourselves that we have spent years trying to maintain.

And when these things begin to change, we can experience an overwhelming sense of loss.

But today, I would like to offer you another perspective.

Not everything you are losing is a loss. Sometimes, what is leaving your life is simply no longer able to accompany the person you are becoming.

When Growth Feels Like Grief

We often imagine spiritual growth as something beautiful, uplifting and filled with wonderful discoveries.

And indeed, it can be.

But growth can also feel terribly uncomfortable.

Sometimes we begin to recognise that the relationships, circumstances and patterns we once accepted no longer reflect who we are.

Perhaps you have become more aware of your own needs.

Perhaps you are learning to establish boundaries where previously you would have sacrificed your own peace.

Or perhaps you simply recognise that something which once felt right no longer does.

This does not mean that everything you are leaving behind was wrong.

Something can have been beautiful, meaningful and entirely right for one chapter of your life without being destined to remain for every chapter that follows.

And I think that is something we must learn to make peace with.

You Are Allowed to Miss What You Have Outgrown

One of the greatest misunderstandings surrounding personal and spiritual development is the belief that once we recognise the need for change, we should somehow become immune to the sadness that accompanies it.

But we are human.

We form attachments. We create memories. We invest our love, time, hopes and dreams into people and circumstances.

Of course we may grieve their passing.

You can miss someone and still recognise that the relationship no longer serves your wellbeing.

You can feel frightened of a new beginning and still know that remaining where you are is no longer right.

You can love the memories of a chapter without wishing to return to it.

Please do not mistake sadness for a sign that you have made the wrong decision.

Sometimes sadness is simply our human heart learning to accommodate a truth that another part of us has already recognised.

Spiritual Guidance Does Not Remove Human Emotion

Within my spiritual work, I often encourage people to recognise the distinction between receiving guidance and expecting that guidance to remove every difficulty from their path.

We may seek reassurance from Spirit, our guides or our own intuition.

But understanding what we need to do does not necessarily make doing it easy.

Spiritual awareness should never become a reason to dismiss our very human emotions.

Nor should we feel compelled to find an immediate spiritual explanation for every disappointment.

Sometimes we need to grieve.

Sometimes we need to rest.

Sometimes we need to acknowledge that something hurts, even when we understand why change may be necessary.

And that is perfectly all right.

You do not have to be endlessly positive to be spiritually aware.

You simply need to remain willing to understand yourself, to learn and, when you are ready, to move forward.

A Little Reflection for You Today

If you are experiencing a period of change, I would invite you to sit quietly for a few moments and consider these questions.

– What am I finding difficult to release?
– Am I holding on because it still brings me happiness, or because I fear what comes next?
– What did this chapter teach me about myself?
– What might I need more of in the next chapter of my life?

There is no need to force an answer.

And certainly no need to make a dramatic decision simply because you have recognised that something is changing.

Allow yourself time.

Allow yourself kindness.

And perhaps, most importantly, allow yourself the possibility that your future may hold something beautiful that you cannot yet imagine.

Your Angel Affirmation 🪽

I release what no longer serves me with love and gratitude.

I honour the lessons of my past without allowing them to determine the entirety of my future.

I trust myself to move forward gently, knowing that I am worthy of peace, happiness and new beginnings.

A Little Something Different at WalkswithSpirit

Before I leave you today, Sweet Friends, I wanted to share something about how my spiritual writing is developing.

Many of you already follow my Daily Soul Guidance through Instagram and Facebook, where I offer messages, affirmations and spiritual reflections.

Those will absolutely continue.

However, I am beginning to use my website a little differently.

Here, I would like to offer you more than the original post.

A little more of my own understanding, the experiences that shape my spiritual work, and the deeper teachings behind the guidance I share.

Some articles will explore mediumship and communication with Spirit. Others may consider spiritual development, intuition, my Spirit Guides, lunar influences and the challenges we encounter throughout our human lives.

Not every Instagram message will become a longer article, and not everything I share here will necessarily appear on social media.

I would simply like this to become another place where you can spend a little time with me, reading, reflecting and perhaps discovering something meaningful for yourself.

There is no grand announcement or sudden change.

Just a natural development of the work I have loved sharing with you for so many years.

And I hope you will enjoy exploring it with me.

Until next time, Sweet Friends, please remember:

You are not losing yourself. You may simply be discovering who you are becoming.

With love xxx
